First Rock Fellowship:: H.I.M Student Ministry

A New Standard

The standard we want to establish for viable student ministry is not the number of attenders, the sophistication of the events, or the “cool” factor of the youth group—but whether teens have the commitment, passion and resources to pursue Christ intentionally and whole-heartedly after they leave the youth ministry nest.

Our Goal for Student Ministry

At its root the Christian faith is a relationship. It is a relationship initiated by God who loved individuals so much He sent His Son to redeem them. Triune God draws them into a relationship with Himself for fellowship and adoration, to join Him in His kingdom purposes, and for the display of His splendor. He desires the exaltation of His Son for eternity, not for eighteen years.

Purpose Statement

Students who, for the glory of the Father and in the power of the Spirit,

spend a lifetime

embracing the full supremacy of the Son,

responding to his majesty in all of life,

inviting Christ to live His life through us,

and joining Him in making disciples among all peoples.

To move students toward this goal, we will:

  1. Lead students into an awakening to much more of who Christ is today.

“And Jesus . . . [said], ‘All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth’” (Matt. 28:18).

“And [the Son] is the radiance of [God’s] glory and the exact representation of His nature, and upholds all things by the word of His power” (Heb. 1:3).

  1. Lead students who increasingly embrace the supremacy (supreme power and authority) of Christ to worship and adore Him more deeply.

“Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power and riches and wisdom and might and honor and glory and blessing” (Rev. 5:12).

  1. Lead students enthralled with the wonder of the King to respond to His majesty and lordship in all of life.

“Therefore let all the house of Israel know for certain that God has made Him both Lord and Christ” (Acts 2:36).

  1. Lead students to relate to the Son the way the Son relates to the Father.

“In that day you will know that I am in My Father, and you in Me, and I in you. . . . If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our abode with him” (John 14:20, 23).

  1. Lead students to invite Christ to live out His life through them.

“Christ in you, the hope of glory” (Col. 1:27).

“I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me” (Gal. 2:20).

  1. Lead students to join Christ in making disciples among all peoples.

“Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations” (Matt. 28:19).

Join us in the great endeavor through prayer to exalt H.I.M.

He is Master!

First Rock Fellowship :: Music Ministry

Sing to him a new song; play skillfully, and shout for joy.
-Psalm 33:3 (NIV)

At First Rock, we believe that praise and worship are an active, dynamic, integral link between God and His people. This ministry seeks to serve Him humbly in a spirit of excellence through music and to lead others into His presence so that we may glorify God as one body with one voice through one Spirit.

We recognize that we are a  "chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that (we) may declare the praises of him who called (us) out of darkness into his wonderful light." (1Peter 2:9) and that "the joy of the Lord is our strength". (Nehemiah 8:10). We have a saying around here- "God is good….All the time!"

With this in mind, we come together to ascribe worth and to worship our Creator in the beauty of His Holiness by giving our whole heart - body, soul and spirit- to singing His praises.

Come and be a part of what God is doing at First Rock. We know that people have different leanings in their worship style, so we provide a modern worship time at  8:30 am and a blended worship time at 11 am.

First Rock Fellowship :: Men's Ministry

The Men at the Rock Ministry at First Rock Fellowship is a growing ministry with a mission to train and develop men in Christian living to be spiritual leaders in our homes, church, businesses and communities. We will accomplish this mission through building friendships during fellowship, prayer and accountability groups, bible studies, retreats and special events. Today, it is increasingly important for men to honor God in all areas of their lives. We welcome you to come grow with us!

First Rock Fellowship :: Small Group Ministry

Small groups are very important to a church. True Christian Fellowship is one of the pillars of a Christian’s life. Just as intake of God’s Word, Prayer and Worship are of vital importance so is Christian Fellowship. Small groups are great for getting to know God’s Word and other people better. At First Rock we offer various small group bible studies in homes or at the church. Some are offered year round and others are short term and more in the Fall, Winter and Spring. We highly encourage all to be a part of a small group.

Life Groups were launched in February 2017.  If you are interested in a Life Group or just want more information please contact the church office at 940-365-2445.
