Missions, whether they be local, national or international are at the heart of First Rock Fellowship. God has been doing a work in us growing us in this area over the past several years

Matthew 28:19 says “…go and make disciples of all nations…” and in Acts 1:8 Jesus is quoted as having said “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” This defines what we are to be about and where we are to be about it. The church does not exist for itself, not for its glory or its pleasure rather for the glory of God and that His kingdom and will would be done on earth as it is in heaven. The tithes and offerings we bring are not meant to build a more beautiful social club for us they are to build the kingdom of God locally, nationally, and internationally. With great joy we give to support a variety of missions and missionary families. Most of these have a personal connection to our church. Some are former members, others are friends of families in our church. We support them based on years of knowing them and seeing the call of God on their lives. Our desire is to always sow seed in good soil so that we are good stewards of what God gives us. First Rock Fellowship not only gives to twelve different mission organizations, ministries and missionaries we also give regularly to our local Denton Baptist Association which touches the world through the Cooperative Program, church planting, and church development both locally and abroad. Support for missions does not end with simply sending a check for those in the full time work of traveling speaking and or ministering outside of our Jerusalem. The following photo gallery shows pictures of more recent mission trips we have been able to go on. More and more in our congregation are catching a desire to personally experience missions by going themselves on short term trips. This vision God has given us can not be supported consistently in these financial times if we have to make a large debt payment. It is our desire to live with less in order that we not give up the joy of supporting these great ministries.
